Adjuncts....
Historically, we've kept our beer lineup fairly traditional—sticking closely to the core ingredients of malt, hops, yeast, and water. That said, we’ve occasionally branched out with styles like Shandy, Witbier, and specialty stouts, incorporating adjuncts to enhance those beers in thoughtful ways.
There was a time not too long ago when using wild, unconventional ingredients became a huge trend in craft beer. Breweries were tossing in everything from cream cheese and candy bars to breakfast cereal. These experimental brews generated massive hype, often drawing long lines of fans eager to try the latest creation.
But over the past few years, the market has shifted. We’ve seen a strong resurgence of classic styles—crisp lagers, pale ales, and crystal-clear American IPAs. So much so that it’s become common for some breweries to exclude adjuncts altogether.
Then something interesting happened last year—we started hearing more and more requests for beers with a unique twist. Whether it was fruit, spices, or other distinctive ingredients, people were looking for creativity again—but with balance and purpose. Just look at what Dogfish Head built: a powerhouse brand rooted in off-centered, innovative beers.
So, we decided to experiment. We introduced beers made with pretzels, vanilla, peppers, and fruit—and every release flew off the shelves, often selling out within a week.
What we’re seeing now is a new kind of demand: beers that respect traditional styles but offer a little something unexpected. And we’re all in. As long as you’re enjoying them, we’ll keep crafting beers with a fun twist.
